The City of New Rochelle is soliciting proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide consulting services for a COMPREHENSIVE FIRE DEPARTMENT STAFFING STUDY. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the Fire Department’s current daily citywide shift staffing level and evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness, and the current and future needs of the Department. The study is in response to the recently approved overlay zoning district which permits developers to construct high-rise structures that will be in the downtown area. The consulting firm shall evaluate what is required to provide adequate fire service including, but not limited to; current "shift staffing" levels based on the current conditions all through the anticipated proposed "full build-out." The study shall include: risk(s) associated with the change(s), staffing needs, and recommendations of proper staffing levels. The study shall demonstrate a clear understanding of the implications resulting from the proposed increase in population, density in the downtown, and additional new high-rise buildings.
