RFP-COP 02-03-10 - Prelim. & Final Building Design for New Public Safety Facility

Project Description: Notice is hereby given that the City of Poughkeepsie is seeking to retain an architectural/engineering firm to provide preliminary and final professional design services including construction support and intermittent field construction support for one municipally funded project located in the City of Poughkeepsie. This project involves the architectural planning and design for the purpose of constructing a combination fire department and police department Pubic Safety Facility to serve a population of 28,000. The available project site area is expected to be approximately 270 ft in length by 170 feet in depth or approximately 1.1 acres. 

The project involves creation of an aesthetically pleasing building design, all necessary site work and utility improvements, and building foundations. Of particular importance is the ability to produce a space efficient design utilizing the area available for development. The architect shall be responsible for utility coordination, and preparation of final contract documents to facilitate municipal bidding. All designs shall meet applicable regulations of the NYS Building Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and relative NYSDOT Standard Specifications (construction and materials).
