The City of Rome, NY is requesting proposals from qualified consultants for the design, construction, and bid documents for complete street improvements to Park Drive from Floyd Avenue to Vega Drive. Situated within the Woodhaven Re-development Area, the design of the Park Drive Complete Streets project shall consider the recommendations from the Woodhaven Area Complete Streets Study and the Woodhaven Revitalization Plan. The improvements will include designs for a trail connection from Ellsworth Road to Park Drive and continue along Mars Drive and Vega Drive to connect to the northern Woodhaven re-development site. The Park Drive Complete Streets project is vitally important to provide a safe and efficient transportation system on Park Drive that considers the needs of all travelers, including pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, and motorists.
The design will include:
• ADA compliant sidewalks as per the Woodhaven Area Complete Streets Study
• Asphalt side paths for bicycles
• Green infrastructure solutions to treat stormwater runoff where needed, consistent with NYS DEC best management practices
• Incorporation of transit stops
• Strong shade tree planting design
• Traffic calming measure assessment and designs (speed tables, speed humps, etc…) for the intersection of Mars Drive and Park Drive
• Trail connections between Ellsworth Road and Park Drive and along Mars Drive and Vega Drive
