The City of Yonkers Department of Parks will be going out to bid for a 12-month contract, with the option to extend for two (2) additional 12-month periods of agreed upon by both parties, for the bare ground weed control of post emergent vegetation for City of Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, right-a-ways building perimeters, medians and sidewalks of parks and various other sites across the City of Yonkers. This vegetation will be controlled by post emergent chemical methods employing the use of soil sterilant and selective use herbicides. The contractor must be a registered pesticide business in New York State with Certified Pesticide Applicators in New York State for Category 6a (within ½ hours of the project). The contractor shall follow all appropriate applicable and relevant OSHA and ANSI standards and will comply with said standards. The City of Yonkers shall provide all necessary supervision which includes on site supervisor.

** Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and in line with the directives issued by the Mayor of Yonkers regarding public safety, there is limited access to One Larkin Center. The building is open from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM for receiving packages via courier services and in person. Upon issuance of the Notice of Acceptance/Contract Award, the Purchasing Department will notify the NYSDOL with the following information:
Contractor name, address, and federal employer identification number;
Contract amount;
Approximate start and completion dates.
NYSDOL Requirements for OSHA 10 Compliance
If the resultant contract is $250,000 or more, the Contractor must certify that every worker employed for this project has completed an OSHA 10 safety training course prior to performing any work on the project. Valid proof of completion of the OSHA 10 training course includes copies of bona fide course completion card and training roster, attendance record, or other documentation from the certified trainer. Simply attesting that all employees have completed the course is not sufficient proof of completion.
