IFB-6990 - REPLACEMENT OF EMERGENCY DIESEL ENGINE AT LOW SERVICE PUMP STATION

The purpose of the project is to replace the Emergency Diesel Engine at the Yonkers Low
Service Pump Station (LSPS), located at 319 Tuckahoe Road.
The work includes, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Demolition and removals as shown
a. Remove the existing Cummins Model NT-380 diesel engine.
b. Remove existing fuel supply lines, cooling lines, exhaust manifold piping, engine
batteries and engine float charger.
c. Remove existing engine mounts used with Cumins Model NT-380 diesel engine.
d. Remove existing coupling from Worthington (Model 8LN18, SN 1604674, 6MGD) split
case centrifugal pump.
2. Procure and install FPT C87 Diesel Engine with optional engine control module to allow for
shutdowns should the FPT C87 experiences low pressure, loss of cooland, high oil
temperature, or inadequate fuel flow.
3. Provide a centerline mark with the existing Worthington split case centrifugal pump to align
the replacement FPT C87 Diesel Engine.
4. Replacement of engine mounts (fixed or adjustable) and vibration dampners, installed and
shimmed properly to mount the FPT C87 Diesel Engine to the existing concrete engine
pad.
5. Modify and reconnect existing fuel supply lines, cooling lines and exhaust manifold piping
as required. This would include but is not limited to the extending or rerouting of all existing
lines and piping as required to connect to the replacement diesel engine.
6. Replacement of the existing engine batteries, supply, and installation of new battery float
charger.
7. Supply and install a sample tap on the 24" emergency pump suction and discharge piping
and run to the LSPS mezzanine.
8. Installation of two (2) pressure transmitters connected to suction and discharge piping
sample taps.
9. Installation of differential pressure transmitter on existing venturi taps located in the LSPS
mezzanine.
10. Installation of a new flow recorder and connection to three (3) new pressure transmitters
as shown.
11. Connection of the pressure transmitters to LSPS SCADA controls.
12. Provide SCADA and PLC programming for new flow recorder, differential pressure
transmitter, and suction and discharge pressure transmitters. SCADA programming to
relay information back to existing SCADA platform.
13. Project closeout submittals.
