RFP No. 454 - Waterfront Park Conceptual Design Services for the City of Yonkers

The City of Yonkers is requesting proposals from qualified respondents to provide professional design services related to the development of a new waterfront park within the City.

The City of Yonkers is the 3rd largest city in New York State and the largest city in Westchester County.  The City, situated along the Hudson River, enjoys miles of shoreline. The City is desires to increase public access to this valuable nature resource by transforming a portion of the shoreline into an attractive and functional park.  The Project Site is intended to consist of 3.8 acres (approximately 166,600 square feet), which includes approximately 0.64 acres of underwater land, located along the Hudson River in southwest Yonkers, within the City’s Ludlow neighborhood. The Project Site is bounded by the American Sugar refinery to the north, industrial uses to the east, the Westchester County Wastewater Treatment Plant to the south, and the Hudson River to the west.  The City is seeking a professional consultant to develop and prepare three (3) alternate Waterfront Park schematic designs, along with preliminary budgetary estimates (the “Conceptual Design”).
