2023-004 - Tree Removal/Pruning

PURPOSE:
The City of Beacon is seeking sealed proposals for tree removal and/or pruning City trees.  This proposal will be based on a daily rate or a half-day rate. 

Scope of Work:
Bidder shall provide the following:
     - three (3) workers
     - 65' bucket truck or better
     - chipper with dump truck
     - log loader for the removal of logs (priced as an additional service)
     - Provide hourly rate for removal of stumps with stump grinder to below surface level.
           
Bidder shall provide a list of equipment that will be used (see below).

Bidder shall be available twenty-four (24) hours a day and able to respond to emergency calls within four (4) hours in any case where a tree is creating an immediate danger to health or life.  Otherwise, their response time shall be within a forty-eight (48) hour period.
           
It shall be the Bidder's responsibility to notify utility companies for removal of guide cables or electric lines near tree if necessary.  Bidder shall notify the City of traffic control and road closures during the time of work, as well as provide required traffic control.

Bidder shall be a certified New York State Arborist and provide the City with a Certificate of Insurance.

Bidder shall give a reference list of municipality sites where work has been previously performed.

Stumps shall be cut down to at least six (6) inches in height to enable the City to use a stump grinder to remove them.  All tree and pruning debris must be removed from City property.
