GENERAL INFORMATION
- EXAMINATION OF SITE
Bidders must satisfy themselves by personal examination of the location of the proposed work as to the accuracy of the estimate of the quantities of the work to be done and shall not at any time after the submission of a bid dispute, complain of such estimate, nor assert that there was any misunderstanding in regard to the nature or amount of work to be done.
- STORM SEWER CLEANING
The City of Beacon (City) owns and operates a wastewater collection system and storm sewer collection system. The City has identified approximately 482 linear feet of 48" diameter storm sewer line as a part of this cleaning and televising project, as shown on the included aerial plan. It is the Contractor's responsibility to obtain and comply with all work restrictions. Contractor shall by-pass pump storm sewer flows to allow for the proper cleaning and televising of the storm sewer lines. Contractor shall take all necessary measures to ensure that sufficient pumping is provided to prevent any back-ups within the existing storm sewer line and ensure that overflows do not occur at manholes up stream of the line to be by-passed.
No work shall be allowed during high tide, wet weather conditions, nor the day after any wet weather.
- SUBMITTING PROPOSALS
No proposal will be considered unless it is made upon the proposal form(s) contained in and submitted with the project proposal pamphlet. No project proposal pamphlet shall be disassembled. All blank spaces for proposal prices must be filled in, in ink, typewritten or printed.
- PREVAILING WAGE LAW
The bidder is responsible for complying with the New York State Prevailing Wage Law N.Y. Labor Law§ 220(3). Contractor awarded the project shall submit certified payrolls with payment request.
- MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
lvleasurement of the various items in the proposal shall be of each item of completed work, with no
allowance for waste.
Payment for the various items in the proposal will be made at the unit price bid in the proposal and shall be compensation in full for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, disposal of wastes and appurtenances necessa1y to complete the work in a satisfactory manner as required to complete the work. Each item, fixture, piece of equipment, etc., shall be completed with all necessary connections and appurtenances, for the satisfacto1y use and operation of said item unless specifically called for in the proposal.
Total quantities indicated in the proposal are approximate. Payment will be made upon satisfacto1y completion of the work of the entire project.
- INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
The contractor shall provide and maintain, until the work is completed and accepted by the City, insurance coverage as required by the City. Within five (5) working days after notice of award and receipt of contract, the contractor shall submit to the City a "Certificate of Insurance" form completed by his insurance carrier or agent certifying that minimum insurance coverage's as required arc in effect and will not be canceled or changed until 10 days after written notice is given to the City of Beacon. These policies shall not expire until all work has been completed and the project has been accepted by the City. THE CITY OF BEACON AND LANC & TULLY ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING, P.C. SHALL BE NAMED ON ALL POLICIES AS ADDITIONAL INSURED.
The Contractor shall provide with coverage not less than the following amounts or greater where required by law.
Workmen's Compensation - Statutory
Disability Benefits - Statutory
Comprehensive Automobile Liability (including owned, non-owned, and hired autos) Combined Single Limit (bodily injury and property damage) - $1,000,000
Comprehensive General Liability (including contractual, products and completed operations coverage)

The Contractor shall either:
- Require each of his subcontractors, if any, to procure and to maintain during the life of his subcontract, Subcontractor's Public Liability and Property Damage of the type and in the same amounts as specified in the preceding paragraph; or
- Insure the activities of his subcontractors in his own policy.
