The City of Mount Vernon will accept only physical bids for "Towing Services" at the Office of the City Clerk, Room 104, City Hall, One Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon, New York, until 3:00 PM on April 14, 2025. All proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud during the Board of Estimate and Contracts meeting on April 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Mayor’s Conference Room, Room 107, City Hall, Mount Vernon.
Prospective bidders are encouraged to register at www.Bidnetdirect.com to receive notifications regarding current and upcoming opportunities within the City of Mount Vernon. Bids may also be downloaded from this site.
Physical copies of the bid documents are available for pick-up at the Office of the City Clerk, Room 104, City Hall, One Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon, New York, starting February 10, 2025. A deposit of $100.00, payable by cash or company check, is required for each set, along with a company business card.
The full deposit, minus the actual cost of reproduction, will be refunded upon the return of the complete set of documents in good condition, no later than 30 days after the award of the contract or rejection of bids.
BID/PROPOSAL SUBMISSION:
All bids/proposals must be submitted on the provided forms and enclosed in a sealed envelope marked with the bid title. The envelope must also display the name and address of the bidder and be addressed to the Board of Estimate and Contract, City of Mount Vernon, New York.
Each proposal must be accompanied by:
a. A Certified or Bank Check for five (5%) percent of the total bid amount, made payable to the City of Mount Vernon, or a Bid Bond for five (5%) percent of the total bid. This serves as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted and a contract awarded, the contract will be duly executed and its performance properly secured in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
b. All Certifications and Affidavits as required in the Instructions to Bidders. No bids may be withdrawn for 45 days following the opening of proposals.
CITY’S RIGHTS RESERVED:
The City of Mount Vernon reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any specifications that it deems non-material to the bid. This may be done if it is in the best interest of the City.
