Description

The Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response (DER) invites experienced and qualified
Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agencies to submit proposals to provide both basic life support
(“BLS”) and advanced life support (“ALS”) ambulance services under a new pilot program to
provide supplement local EMS agencies when excess call volume prompts them to request
assistance via mutual aid.
It is not the intent of this solicitation to replace the primary service providers. Rather, the goal is to
supplement the agencies struggling to respond to the ambulance calls within their jurisdiction in a
timely fashion.
