RFP-FIN01-12 - BOND COUNSEL

Summary of Specifications:
The County of Orange seeks to retain a firm of attorneys nationally recognized in the practice of public security and tax law to serve in the capacity of bond counsel to the County for the issuance of general obligation bonds and other debit instruments, including, but not limited to, bond anticipation or revenue anticipation notes, which may be required from time to time to finance additional and new improvements at the County. In addition, this firm may be asked to assist the County and its general counsel in other related legal matters. 

The County issued $20,700,000 of general obligation bonds in 2011 and $39,190,000 in 2009 (no general obligation bonds were issued by the County in 2010). In addition, bond anticipation notes were issued in each year from 2007 - 2011 for approximately $8.5 million. The County is anticipating issuing general obligation bonds later in 2012.
