The Program’s mission is to further traffic safety through the coordination of enforcement, prosecution, probation, rehabilitation, public information, and school and community education efforts. This mission is accomplished by collaborating with the Program’s partners, communities and stakeholders, including the Traffic Safety Board, law enforcement agencies (municipal, the County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police), the Magistrates’ Association, Orange-Ulster Board of Cooperative Educational Services (“BOCES”), the County District Attorney’s Office, and a wide-variety of school district personnel (“Program Partners”), to develop and implement creative programs and initiatives to promote safer roadways and to reduce and prevent injuries and fatalities.
