Summary of Specifications:
Orange County Government recognizes that many everyday stresses can negatively affect employee attendance and concentration, the general workplace morale, and an employee's ability to perform well on the job. The County also recognizes that everyday family life and care-giving can create challenges for employees and their families. As a result, the County established the Employee Assistance Program (“EAP”). The EAP has become an integral part of the County benefits package. It has acted as an early intervention for employees with problems, including but not limited to mental health, alcoholism and chemical dependency, marital and family problems, financial and legal difficulties, and workplace conflict, enabling them to perform their jobs. The EAP has furnished professional counselors who provide confidential assessment and short-term counseling to County employees and their families in order to assist them in dealing with these, and related matters.
