RFP-DSS09-13 - Economic Independence Application Assistance

Summary of Specifications:
The County of Orange (“County”) Department of Social Services (“DSS”) is seeking the provision of Economic Independence Application Assistance case managers. These specialized case managers provide in-home and community-based assistance to families and single individuals in applying for two essential services offered through the DSS Division of Economic Independence. These program areas include applications for Medicaid and the Food Stamp Program, officially renamed the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (“SNAP”). Economic Independence Application Assistance Program should: 1. Enhance penetration of eligible consumers for the SNAP and Medicaid Program. 2. Assist individuals and families who are deemed in need of a reasonable accommodation to process SNAP and Medicaid applications. 3. Assist individuals and families with processing applications for assistance through the SNAP and Medicaid Program.
