Summary of Specifications:
The County of Rockland, Department of General Services, Facilities Management Division, is seeking to obtain from qualified professional architectural/engineering firms, design services for the development and preparation of plans and specifications for the rehabilitation/renovation of five (5) elevators located at Rockland Community College, 145 College Road, Suffern, New York. The County of Rockland, Facilities Management Division, is seeking to enter into a contract for architectural/engineering design services for the rehabilitation/renovation of five (5) elevators at the Rockland Community College located in Suffern, NY. Three of the elevators, one of each located in the Academic I, Academic II and Library Buildings are manufactured by Dover. The remaining two (2) elevators, one of each, located in Brucker Hall and the Cultural Arts Buildings are manufactured by Schindler. All the elevators are hydraulic piston driven original equipment. All elevators have been regularly serviced and repaired. The Library elevator new controls and Academic II elevator new hydraulic pump and mechanical operators. Academic I elevator has been experiencing hydraulic problems. Continuing breakdowns on all the elevators have been occurring and spare parts are becoming increasingly difficult to locate and obtain. None of the elevators are in compliance with the present day standards and codes. All of the elevators have reached their life expectancy and require overall rehabilitation/renovation.
