Description

The project is the construction of the Rockland County Firefighter Memorial. The memorial is to honor our Volunteer and Professional Firefighters who gave the ultimate sacrifice in giving their lives in the line of duty in Rockland County, or as residents of Rockland County, gave their lives in the line of duty outside of Rockland County.The memorial is to be sited on the front lawn of the Rockland County Courthouse. The memorial shall provide an area for families, friends, and visitors to reflect and remember the goodness these firefighters gave in serving their communities. The construction shall address the inclusion of other surrounding memorial monuments with access and improvements to allow for one unified memorial location.This project includes but is not limited to the memorial’s construction, site landscaping and lighting, installation of new walkways, new staircases and handrails, relocation of existing war monuments, and landscape restoration
