RFP-DCC-03-2022 - Architectural/Engineering Services for Campus Site Repairs and Upgrades

Dutchess Community College is seeking the services of a qualified Architect/Engineer for the planning and design of the Campus Site Repairs and Upgrades. The project is to be designed with a phased approach, with the initial phase to include critical maintenance and repairs.
 
The project will include planning and designing for the repairs to the campus walkways, exterior stairs and sidewalks.  There are various stairs, sidewalks and walkways around campus that are in need of repair or replacement as the concrete/ asphalt is deteriorating and the railings on the stairs are rotting. Patching these areas is no longer a viable option and the deterioration of these areas is a safety concern. 
 
The elevated deck walkway between Hudson and Drumlin Halls is deteriorating and needs to be replaced.  This portion of the work has been designed but will need to be updated and/or modified and be incorporated into the planning and construction for the campus site repairs and upgrades project.  This walkway consists of the demolition of the existing walkway down to the steel sub framing, replacing deteriorated metal decking, installing new trench and drain connections, installing a new concrete slab with asphalt top course and waterproof membrane. 
 
The project will also include the creation of a vehicular drop off and pick up zone in Lot E and will make modifications to the two pedestrian crossings leading from Lot E across Creek Road to campus and to direct pedestrians from the north end of the lot to the main Hudson Hall crosswalk.
