Dutchess Community College and Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) are seeking the services of a qualified Special Inspections firm for a major building construction project. The project involves construction of a new 32,000 gross sf, single story educational building which will be the new home of the Dutchess Community College (DCC) Aviation program and Airframe and Powerplant Certification Program located at Hudson Valley Regional Airport. The project is located at 263 New Hackensack Road, Wappingers Falls, New York 12590.
The approximate cost of construction is $12,000,000. The building includes classroom spaces, instructor offices, lecture rooms, an educational aircraft hangar, an experiential aircraft hangar, bathrooms, breakrooms, and incidental use areas (supply closets, storage, IT rooms, mechanical, etc.)
The project will be built on an undeveloped site, and will include parking lots, aircraft aprons, pedestrian sidewalks, municipal water, natural gas from a Central Hudson service line, an on-site sewage disposal system, and electrical/telecom from existing service providers.
It is anticipated that construction will begin in September 2019 and must be completed by July 2020. Bids for construction have already been received and contracts are being executed presently. Included by reference with this RFP is the Bid Documents and Addenda, prepared by C&S Engineers. Colliers International is the project Construction Manager.
