Summary of Specifications:
Holmes, NY 12531 NATURE OF PROJECT: The Boring Contractor shall perform the following: • Perform augur borings along the proposed water main project route at 200-foot intervals* • Perform geoprobes along the proposed water main project route at 50-foot intervals, or as needed, between the proposed boring locations.* • Perform split-spoon sampling along the proposed water main project route at 500-foot intervals. • Obtain the necessary permits as specified in the Agreement • Provide the necessary Maintenance and Protection of Traffic as specified in the Agreement *as noted on the plans or as indicated by Engineer/Owner’s Representative The Boring Contractor will also be responsible for preparing a report containing the following: • Drawing(s) showing the as-bored location of all borings/geoprobes/split-spoon sampling and excavations, with dimensions in relationship to plan locations • All data collected during the subsurface investigation recorded into boring logs or excavation profiles, indicated ground water levels encountered, in accordance with applicable ASTM standards, and referenced by boring or excavation number. The presence of potentially expansive, deleterious, chemically active or corrosive materials or conditions, or potentially hazardous gases, if obvious to the field personnel by odor or as a result of visual observation will be included in the boring logs/excavation profiles. • A chart illustrating the soil classification criteria and the terminology and symbols used on the boring logs/excavation profiles • A description of the existing surface and estimated subsurface conditions shall be provided • Subsurface profiles of rock or other bearing stratum • Discussion of potential variations in elevations and movements of subsurface water due to seasonal influence

When an agency receives a request, §89(3)(a) of the NYS Freedom of Information Law requires that it has five business days to grant or deny access in whole or in part, or if more time is needed, to acknowledge the receipt of the request in writing and indicate an approximate date by which the agency will respond to the request. For paper copies which are larger than 9”x14”, and/or for records which may be in other formats/media, charges are based on actual production costs.
