2020-114 - AV Upgrade for Old Courthouse

The Genesee County Information Technology Department is looking to replace the 20-year-old
audio system installed at the Old Court House Upper Chamber. The Upper Chamber is a 1890s
Court Room with a high ceiling and marginal acoustics. This room is used for public meetings,
Legislature meetings, Committee meetings, etc. so the system recommended must be capable of
recording the meetings and be ADA compliant.
The current audio system consists of 4 speakers (one in each corner of the room), 13 fixed
microphones, and a recording system and ADA compliant hearing loop. The goal of the new
system is to ensure that anyone in the room attending a public meeting can adequately hear the
proceedings with a long-term goal of providing video streaming using ZOOM.
Due to funding constrictions, all installation work must be completed by 12/31/2020.
