2023-102 - Dental and Short-Term Disability Coverage

Genesee County is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for both fully, and self- insured Dental benefits as well as Short-Term Disability coverage. The Genesee County self-funded dental plan includes enrollment from both the County and Genesee Community College. The census included with this RFP will indicate which group the member belongs to. Two dental quotes should be provided (1) County employees only and (2) Combined County and College employees. The Short-Term Disability proposals are specific to the County employees only and do not include Genesee Community College employees. The County does not currently offer a short-term disability benefit. The anticipated effective date for this program is March 1, 2023.

Please quote for both a contractual period of a two (2) year term effective March 1, 2023 and a three (3) year term effective March 1, 2023 each with provisions for two (2) renewals of the same term as the original contract, at the same terms and conditions, upon written mutual agreement of the parties. Notice of intent to renew will be given to the contractor in writing by Genesee County before the expiration date of the current contract. This notice will not be deemed to commit Genesee County to a contract renewal.
