2023-109 - Jail Medical Services

The Genesee County Purchasing Department is requesting proposals from qualified firms and/or individuals experienced in the delivery of Inmate Medical Services for the Genesee County Jail.

The following information is provided as a general guideline only, The Responder is responsible for evaluating the specific medical service needs, as well as the inmate dynamics at the Genesee County Jail.

The Genesee County Jail is an urban correctional facility that currently holds male inmates generally serving ___2____ years or less.  The average daily population of the Jail changes monthly and has been as low as __55____ and as high as _____84_____.  A new Jail facility is currently under construction with operation projected for mid-2024.

New County Jail:
Genesee County is currently in the construction phase of building a new 184 bed jail facility that will house both males and female inmates.  The new facility is expected to be fully operational by
July 1, 2024 with a daily population anticipated to be between 100 and 125 inmates.

The successful responder will be able to provide a degree of flexibility and creativity in medical staffing areas and shifts in order to assure the most favorable response and prompt delivery of quality inmate medical services t meet the needs of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
