RFP 2013-113 - Updating of Employee Handbook

Summary of Specifications:
The Purchasing Director is soliciting proposals from a qualified writer or firm to prepare a new Employee Handbook for the County of Genesee. The current Employee Handbook was created in 1997, updated in 2007, but is now out of date. SCOPE OF SERVICES: The County would like to cooperatively engage a qualified writer or firm to prepare a new Employee Handbook. The Handbook must be: 1. Relevant and based on best practices 2. Consistent with current New York State labor law 3. Useful for all departments of County government. There may be unique sections which are appropriate only to certain departments, such as the County Nursing Home or Department of Social Services. 4. Colorful and easy to read for all users. 5. Available as an electronic document – with regular content updates available. SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS: Those submitting proposals shall provide the following items: 1. A description of your experience in providing similar services in the past three years. Please provide names, addresses, and phone numbers of contact persons. Briefly describe the work performed, including all deliverables. 2. An itemized description of the price for the entire project. 3. A proposed timeline for completion of the project 4. A few sample pages of the proposed Handbook. 5. Confirmation that your company has a labor lawyer on your team or do you have the ability to have the Handbook reviewed by a labor lawyer?
