SCOPE OF WORK
The project consists of preventative maintenance on two (2) County owned roads. The scope of work for
each road is as follows:
County Road 8:
Milling of the existing road surface to a depth of 1.5 inches. Place 1.5” of top course asphalt on the milled
surface to match existing grades. Pavement markings are to be applied to the finished surface to match
existing. Install box beam guide rail at existing culverts 32 and 39 that currently provide a safety hazard
to the travelling public and replace corrugated beam guide rail at culvert 38 with box beam guide rail.
County Road 22:
Milling of the existing road surface to a depth of 1.5 inches. Place 1.5” of top course asphalt on the milled
surface to match existing grades. Pavement markings are to be applied to the finished surface to match
existing.
The scope of this work includes, but is not limited to the following:
q Maintain and protect traffic for the duration of the project in conformance with NYSDOT and
MUTCD requirements
q Preserving existing signs
q Locating, preserving and protecting existing utilities at all times
q Cold mill pavement & rebates between existing and proposed pavements
q Construction warm mix asphalt concrete pavements and shoulders to the line and grades shown on the
Contract Documents
q Laying out and applying permanent pavement markings
q Placing shoulder backup material to the proper lines and grades
q Installation of guide railing systems
q Turf establishment
q Incidental work necessary to completely and satisfactorily construct the project
The Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, disposal, and performing all work in
accordance with these Contract Documents, technical specifications and plans, as ordered by Engineer.
This project includes a 6% DBE Participation Goal and EEO goals for Women (6.9%) and Minorities (5.3%). This
project consists of two separate Federal Aid Projects with unique PINs (Project Identification Numbers) being bid as
one project. The DBE and EEO goals will need to be submitted, tracked and met separately for each unique PIN
