Orange College Community College (aka ‘the College’, OCCC or SUNY Orange) seeks to obtain Engineering design services at the Middletown campus for three projects, preferably from one firm. The College may award in part or in whole to responsive and responsible Offeror(s).
PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS:
Project #1: Replace Morrison Hall Cooling Tower – Replace existing self-contained, glycol cooling tower 5
Project #2: Replace Univents in Bio-Tech Building – Replace existing univents with face and by-pass units
Project #3: Replace Harriman Hall Univents – Replace existing univents with face and by-pass units.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: The primary contact for the successful design consultant shall be the Project Manager, Fred Brennen. The College expects the Design Consultant to conduct bi-weekly meetings during the project through project completion.
Design: Prepare independent construction and project cost estimates; provide constructability, value engineering analysis, project design and construction options.
Support: Provide construction inspection services and technical support during design and construction of the project(s). Review and approve pay applications and certified payroll and approve closing documents along with as built plans. Respond to questions and concerns from the College within 24 hours.
During design of the projects, the Consultant’s submitted plans and specifications for the bids may be accepted in part or in whole and could need revisions upon review.
Bidding: develop a detailed scope of work for each separate bid package; work with College personnel in evaluating bids and qualifying contractors; possibly conduct pre bid award conference(s) with apparent low bidders to review and verify contractor’s understanding of scope of work. Bid Numbers are issued by the Procurement Coordinator. The Consultant may reference his or her own number internally but the legal advertisements, bid packages, etc. will contain only the College issued bid number.
