The population and business growth in Tompkins County is steady. Due to the economic turbulence exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport and aviation overall has seen significant challenges.
The airport is currently experiencing a loss of air service and seeks to develop a strategic business plan with a focus on recovery, to ensure a sustainable and profitable future for the Airport. Local, affordable, and reliable air service plays a vital role in supporting our community's institutions, businesses, and serves as a valuable convenience for both leisure and business travelers. This plan and implementation of said plan will help ensure that we are doing everything feasible to achieve a self-sustainable airport.
