Summary of Specifications:
ITEM #1 Description of Bid:
The Town of Amherst is requesting bids for the repair of our 10,000 gallon FRP Chemical Bulk Storage Tank that is currently used to store Ferrous Chloride. The repair shall consist of but not limited to the following: • Prepare the surface of the tank and apply a small test patch, duplicating the laminate sequence to be used in the repair. • Measure the bond strength of the test patch to the FRP tank. The testing range will meet or exceed the original tank specifications. This result will be indicative of the bonding strength of the subsequent FRP repair laminate. • Prepare the damaged area for repair (a crack approximately 6 feet in length). This prep should consist of sanding and grinding and any other requirements to ensure a proper bond. • The prepared area will be filled/resurfaced as in the previous test to ensure that this repair will meet of exceed original design strength. • The awarded vendor shall furnish all required tools, materials and equipment to complete this repair in a safe and proper manner in accordance with all the manufacturer specifications
• The awarded vendor shall warranty this repair for a minimum of two (2) years from date of completion. • The Town of Amherst will require that the awarded vendor follows all safety guidelines require by but not limited to OSHA/PESH. Some examples would be Confined Space, Lock Out /Tag Out, Electrical Safety and PPE.
ITEM #2 Description of Bid:
The Town of Amherst is requesting bids for the relining a portion of our 10,000 gallon FRP Chemical Bulk Storage Tank that is currently used to store Ferrous Chloride. The relining shall consist of but not limited to the following: • Preparing the entire bottom of the tank and up the sidewalls twelve (12) inches as to ensure a proper bond of the lining material to be applied. • Apply a lining material that will be appropriate to strengthen and protect the areas that it will be applied to. • The awarded vendor shall furnish all required tools, materials and equipment to complete this repair in a safe and proper manner in accordance with all the manufacturer specifications
• The awarded vendor shall warranty this relining for a minimum of two (2) years from date of completion. • The Town of Amherst will require that the awarded vendor follows all safety guidelines require by but not limited to OSHA/PESH.
