Summary of Specifications:
Under the contract for which these specifications are intended, the Contractors shall furnish and install all items, materials, operations or methods listed, mentioned or scheduled; including all labor materials, equipment and incidentals necessary or required to complete the Phase I Closure of the Taxter Road Leaf Transfer Station, earthwork, demolition and removals, asphalt pavement, retaining walls and ramps,storm drainage and bio-retention pond, and all related items; clean and restore the site, all in accordance with the Contract Drawings and these Specifications and as ordered by the Engineer. The Phase I Closure construction of the Taxter Road Leaf Transfer Station consists of regrading the existing site, installing a passive gas collection system, and the installation of an impermeable geosynthetic system. This work will consist of the following: earthwork, geosynthetics installation and gas collection system installation. The earthwork will consist of area clearing, area cleaning, excavation of soil and C&D material, the placement fill, subgrade preparation, trenching, and placement of gravel. The geosynthetics installation will include the installation of geocomposite, geomembrane, and geotextile. The gas collection system will include the installation of PVC gas collection system and vents. Also included in the work will be the construction of a temporary access road within 30 days of the Notice to Proceed, to facilitate a geotechnical investigation of the lower sloped areas. The Contractor will also be required to coordinate with this investigate to allow access as needed.
