TOWN OF NEW CASTLE ADVERTISEMENT AND NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the Town Clerk of the Town of New Castle, New York, on behalf of the Town of New Castle until 10:00 AM at the prevailing time standard on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Town Hall, 200 South Greeley Avenue, New Castle, New York, 10514 for the proposed Demolition of an Existing Residence located at 89 Hidden Hollow Lane. The envelopes containing the bids must be sealed, addressed to the Town Clerk, at the above address and shall be designated as “Proposed Demolition of Existing Residence located at 89 Hidden Hollow Lane”. The principal features of the work is the installation of erosion controls, removal and disposal of all debris, filling and final grading of all disturbed areas of the site after demolition, restoration of all disturbed areas with topsoil, hay and seed. The successful Bidder must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision.
Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans are available beginning Monday, April 6, 2015 electronically on our website: www.mynewcastle.org under the Helpful Links tab (then click the Bids and RFP tab and scroll down to BID NET – HUDSON VALLEY MUNICIPAL PURCHASING GROUP). Or you can retrieve the Contract Documents directly at from the following website www.empirestatebidsystem.com. A limited numbers of hard copies of the Contract Documents are also available at the Town Clerk’s office for a $50.00 fee. Please call ahead for availability of paper copies (914-238-4772). The exterior of the work site may be inspected by interested Bidders at any time with prior authorization of the Town. The interior may be inspected by appointment only: contact the Town Clerk for more information.
Each Bidder must furnish, with his bid, Bid Security in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total amount of the bid. This security may be in the form of a certified check payable to the “Town of New Castle”, a bid bond or cash. The Bidder to whom the contract is awarded will be required to furnish 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds from an acceptable surety company in the form annexed hereto in the total amount of the contract.
Please note that a Maintenance Bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the total amount of the bid will be required for a period of two (2) years. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, to re-advertise for new bids or to accept any bid, which is in the best interest of the Town of New Castle.
