0000231263 - Brush Mowing at Conservation Area

The Town of Mamaroneck Conservation Department is seeking estimates for brush cutting and clearing of 1 acre of overgrown vegetation at the Hommocks Conservation Area meadow using a tractor and a brush hog attachment.  Three areas have been identified on the attached map where the contractor will cut all overgrown vegetation, remove vines, remove logs and branches from the ground and mow.  Branches, logs and fallen trees are to be chipped and the wood chips may be left on site on the walking trails.  Mowed vegetation may be left as cover.  Work cannot begin until the ground is sufficiently frozen enough to bring a tractor and brush hog attachment to the site, which is most likely to occur in February or March.
