The Rotterdam, New York Police Department and Justice Court are seeking advanced engineering support, with a minimum of 3 years continuous work for a municipal law enforcement agency, to manage and direct our network, hardware, software and all other technological implementations for a twelve month period, with the option to renew for an additional 12 month period. The primary objective of the RFP is to secure a vendor who will provide hardware and software support and maintenance, planning of upgrades, implementation and all necessary work to ensure that the Town of Rotterdam Police Department and Justice Court remain fully operational. Nothing contained in this RFP shall infringe upon other Town of Rotterdam IT service contracts. Hours of requested service are primarily 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, however the police department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and there may be instances that will require immediate after hours support. This criteria will be considered when submitting a competitive proposal. A proposal shall detail a response time no greater than one hour for remote support and no greater than two to four hours for on-site and after hours support. In the case of an emergency, a proposal shall detail the bidder’s ability to physically respond to the department within one hour. It is estimated that the engineer will be utilized an average of 8 hours a week. Approximately 90% of police department and justice court technology initiatives shall require the engineer to be physically on site to access hardware and implementations, while approximately 10% may be handled remotely.
