Summary of Specifications:
The Village of Croton on Hudson is seeking the services of a food truck vendor to provide food (hot and cold meals), healthy choice items, beverages (sale of alcoholic beverage is prohibited) and ice cream or other frozen novelties to a high visitation area that has a lack of comparable services. The vending truck must be fully self-sufficient. Chosen vendors shall have the right to use bathroom facilities; however, there is no location for a temporary hose or electric connection. No other equipment is available or will be provided by the Village for cooking, washing or any other purpose. Equipment that creates noise must be approved. All waste created, including grease, must be removed from the site by the vendor and the end of each day of operation.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
The vendor shall furnish all management, labor, fuel, food, beverages, supplies, and equipment, as may be required, for the efficient, nutritional, sanitary, ecologically and environmentally sound operation of food services included in this contract. The vendor shall provide and maintain all equipment necessary to provide a food truck operation. All equipment shall meet Westchester County Department of Health specifications. The vendor shall maintain good public relations with Village staff and patrons at all times.
The vendor shall have the sole and exclusive privilege and responsibility for operating and maintaining a food truck services operation on the grounds of Silver Lake Park. This will include the right to sell food, food products, and nonalcoholic beverages manually.
The vendor shall conduct all of its food services related to the Village in its own name, and shall not bind the Village in any way. The vendor shall not represent expressly or implied that it is an agency of the Village or acts on behalf of the Village. The vendor will make all contracts in its own name, and will be responsible for any goods purchased by the vendor, or for any other obligations or liabilities assumed or created by the vendor. Purchase, delivery, storage and payment considerations related to food service operations shall be at the sole risk and expense of the vendor.
The vendor shall be financially responsible for obtaining, and properly displaying, all required permits, licenses, and bonding to comply with Westchester County Department of Health laws. Further, the vendor shall assume liability for all applicable taxes, including but not restricted to sales, property, meals and beverages. The Village will not be responsible for paying fees, taxes, or other charges of any kind outside the scope of this proposal.
The vendor’s food truck shall be self-contained. The Village will not provide water or electric hookups.
The Village will provide outside trash receptacles for the use of its patrons. It is the responsibility of the vendor to remove trash from all food service areas and place inside of Village provided receptacles.
DIRECTIONS:
Silver Lake Beach and Park is located at the end of Truesdale Drive in the Village of Croton on Hudson. The recreation area is accessible via a steep driveway not open to vehicular traffic but will be made accessible to the food truck at the beginning and end of each day of operation. The concession will remain at one designated site at the park area during the time of operation.
CONCESSION SITE:
The site on which the specified concession will be conducted is within the boundaries of the Village of Croton on Hudson and is open only to Village residents and their guests. The Village issues day and summer beach passes to families for the use of the beach. The average attendance on weekdays is 70 guests per day and on weekends 190 guests per weekend.
