Summary of Specifications:
NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed proposals for the following construction work: BENT AVENUE SIDEWALKS AND 2011 TOURAINE AVENUE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT VILLAGE OF PORT CHESTER BID NO. 19-11 will be received by the Village Board, Village of Port Chester, New York, at the office of the Village Clerk, 222 Grace Church Street, Port Chester, NY 10573, until 10 a.m. prevailing time on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, and immediately thereafter the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the said office. No proposals will be accepted after said time and date. The work consists of the installation of new concrete pavement, curbs, catch Basins, HPDE pipes and asphalt pavement. The work is more fully described in the Specifications and on the Contract Plans. Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained as of Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Village of Port Chester, 222 Grace Church Street, Port Chester, NY 10573, upon payment of a deposit of $50.00 for each set. This deposit will be refunded to bidders and non-bidders who return said Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents in good condition within 10 days after receipt of Bids. Bids shall be made on the Proposal forms furnished with the Specifications, and must be accompanied by a Bid Bond acceptable by the Village, in the amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the Bid. Bidders who submit certified checks must accompany them with a Consent of Surety from a recognized Bonding Company. Checks shall be made payable to the Village of Port Chester, New York and are to be held by Village as a guarantee for the proper execution and delivery of the Contract and bonds to secure the faithful performance thereof. In default of such execution and delivery of Contract and Bonds, the amount of the deposit represented by the check shall be forfeited and retained by the Village of Port Chester, as liquidated damages. Proposals shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the Bidder, addressed to the Village Board, Village of Port Chester, New York and endorsed "BENT AVENUE SIDEWALK AND 2011 TOURAINE AVENUE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT BID NO. 19-11, Village of Port Chester, New York." The Board of Trustees of the Village of Port Chester reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any informality in any Bid, and to award the Contract to other than the lowest Bidder if deemed in the best interest of the Village to do so. Federal funds are utilized on this project and are subject to all the applicable requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It is intended that, whenever possible, positive recommendations will be presented to the Board of Trustees so that an awarding of the bid can be made at the next scheduled meeting.
