Summary of Specifications:
SCOPE: Base Bid:
The base bid work for the project consists of asbestos abatement for the demolition and removal of a 44' long x 16' wide steel bridge located at the crossing of Chatiemac Road over Baker Brook in the Town of Johnsburg, NY (the location is noted on the map attached to these specifications). This bridge is known to have paint containing asbestos. It will be the responsibility of the successful bidder to abate the existing asbestos containing paint for torch cutting operations associated with the demolition and removal of the bridge. Abatement of the asbestos containing materials must be complete NO LATER THAN AUGUST 16, 2010.
Add Alternate No. 1:
The Add Alternate No. 1 work for the project consists of demolition, removal and disposal of the existing steel superstructure items. This shall include, but shall not be limited to the stringers, diaphragms, rail posts and attachments, decking, backwalls, bearings, and anchorage down to the top of the existing concrete bridge seat. Removal of the entire superstructure must be complete NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 1, 2010.
AWARD: Award will be made to one vendor for one or all portions of the project.

Bids are due on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 3:00pm.
