ITB-WC 35-15 - Design and Construction Management Services for Adirondack Folk

Summary of Specifications:
The County of Warren, on behalf of the Adirondack Folk School, is soliciting proposals for planning and design services to undertake activities funded by a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) grant managed by the New York State Department of State (DOS). The Contractor will be responsible for creating appropriate level construction documents to allow the Folk School to undertake the following project elements: replacement of roof; rework of basement area to allow for ADA access; new heating system; conversion of existing heating space to classroom; creation of ADA compliant bathroom; rework of Main level to combine kitchenette and restroom to create one ADA compliant restroom; enclose “loom room” to create office space; remove wall from main office to create additional space in main classroom; create a plan for waterproofing and insulating basement; and restoring proper slope for good drainage. The Contractor will attend meetings with the core committees and will translate their ideas and recommendations into a design that is sympathetic to the existing environmental conditions and the needs of the Folk School. The Contractor will be responsible for identifying issues in the natural and built resources and to provide a preferred design with a list of alternative recommendations. 

The project site is located at Adirondack Folk School, 51 Main Street, Lake Luzerne, New York 12846. The project site is limited to the parcel that the Folk School sits on and the lands immediately surrounding it.
