Summary of Specifications:
The Warren County Attorney’s Office, on behalf of the Warren County Self-Insurance Plan (hereinafter “the Plan”), is seeking proposals for the provision of legal services for the Self-Insurance Plan in connection with Workers’ Compensation claims and cases. The Plan is a pool of self-insurance authorized under the New York State Workers’ Compensation Law for the purposes of payment of compensation required by the Workers’ Compensation Law. The Plan is made up of a group of employers, including the County, the City of Glens Falls, a number of Towns, Fire Districts and other governmental entities or public corporations. Currently, most of the Plan’s Workers’ Compensation hearings are held at the Queensbury Workers’ Compensation Board location. However, it should be anticipated that hearings and/or arguments could be held at another location. For the year 2004, Warren County Self-Insurance Plan was represented at approximately 150 hearings. This number is by no means a guarantee. The annual amount of hearings could fluctuate greatly in either direction. In accordance with the customary practices of the Plan, it is expected that the person or firm selected will make arrangements to pick up the files necessary for the hearings, proceedings or other matters at the offices of Warren County Self-Insurance, Municipal Center Annex Building #11, Queensbury, New York. The files, along with the necessary report from the attorney, are expected to be returned to the Plan office within five (5) business days following the hearing or other purpose for which the files were removed from the office.
