NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Undersigned, on behalf of the Warren County Board of Supervisors, will accept sealed proposals until no later than Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. for RFP - WC 48-05 - REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR DESIGN SERVICES FOR WARREN COUNTY BOARDROOM RENOVATIONS in connection with the Warren County Department of Public Works. Warren County wishes to retain the services of a qualified engineer/architect to advise and assist with the facility needs for Design Services for Warren County Boardroom Renovations Warren County Municipal Center, Lake George, New York. Lump sum proposals submitted for the Design Services shall involve evaluation of the entire Warren County Boardroom on Route 9. Said evaluation shall include, but not be limited to, immediate space needs, future space needs, energy conservation, seating layout and comfort, security issues, sound amplification, air quality, cost assessments on alternatives, and architectural attractiveness befitting the importance of this Center Meeting Room. Planning may involve coordination with other consultants projects. Proposals shall also include a complete hourly cost schedule of services and other expenses for resulting architectural and engineering services for design, pre-construction and construction, including preparation of bid documents and drawings and overseeing the resulting facility expansion project as determined by said needs assessment. Professional services will be retained in accordance with the following award method: The “Two Envelope” method will be used where the criteria is stated in the RFP specifications and sent to professionals who may submit two separate sealed envelopes; one with the Proposal information, the other with the Price. Proposals will be formally opened at a set time. First, all Proposal Envelopes covering Scope of Services and Qualifications ONLY will be opened, evaluated, and a short list selected. This list will be based on proposals submitted. Also, for this selection, some or all professionals may be asked to present their proposals to a committee before the final selection(s) is made. Once said selection is made, only the short listed Proposal Price envelope(s) will be opened and the Low Price will then be awarded. This must then be authorized by the appropriate Board of Supervisors` committee and Resolution of the entire Board of Supervisors.
