Summary of Specifications:
Material to comply with specifications of the divisions of Standards and Purchase of the State of New York for CALCIUM CHLORIDE (FLAKE)--CLASS I and the New York State Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials, dated January 2, 2002 and addenda thereto. Shall be a clear liquid free from suspended matter and shall have not less than 32% calcium chloride by weight. Each contractor furnishing a toxic substance as defined by paragraph 875 of the State Labor Law to an ordering agency shall provide such agency with not less than two copies of a Material Safety Data Sheet (Form OSHA 20), which sheet shall include for each such substance the information outlined in paragraph 876 of the State Labor Law. When the cost of calcium chloride is affected by increase in the truck rates, authorized by the Interstate Commerce Commission or the New York State Dept. of Transportation during the life of the contract, the County will allow such increases. However, if there is a decrease in truck rates, the County shall receive such credit. All shipments of bulk product shall be accompanied by a delivery ticket indicating the producer, and net gallons of the delivery. Trucks shall be properly equipped to protect material during transportation. Except when the County Superintendent exercises the right to reject any or all proposals, the contract shall be awarded to the bidder who has submitted the lowest total price for Price per gallon spray applied by distributor, delivered and applied to Warren County Construction Projects.
