Prospective bidder will prepare 130 bushels of multi-generation oysters as clusters of large adults with smaller attached juvenile oysters. As oysters change sex from male to female with increasing age and size, these clusters will possess both female and male oysters, thereby being capable of spawning during the first reproductive season (typically June through August) after the transfer. The oysters will be transported to the Sturgeon City Environmental Center 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC), where they will be loaded on boats for relay to the designated New River Estuary Oyster Highway reef sites. as directed by CoJ staff.
