The City of Jacksonville (the ‘City’) is soliciting proposals from Contractors to provide employment background checks on an as-needed basis for all City new hires and rehires for full-time, part-time, and temporary positions, as well as for City volunteer coaches. Information about an individual’s past criminal conduct is collected to: preserve public trust; promote a safe work environment for employees and members of the public; determine their suitability for employment; and promote the protection of the City’s property. The City seeks to promote a fair, consistent, confidential and non-discriminatory method of obtaining and using criminal information and other job-relevant information for employment decisions.
The selected Firm(s) will enter into a contract service agreement with the City to cover the proposed scope of work outlined in Section (2) two of this RFP. The contract term will be for forty two (42) months. Services shall begin approximately on January 1, 2022 and continue through June 30, 2025. At the option of the City, it can be extended for up to two (2) additional one-year periods under the same terms, conditions and pricing.

Answers will be posted in an Addendum on December 15, 2021. Answers provided by the City shall be incorporated into this event and will be used to evaluate the responsiveness of all bids.
Due Date: Submittals in response to this RFP shall be sealed proposals mailed to Nancy Ortiz, Human Resources, City of Jacksonville, 815 New Bridge Street Jacksonville, NC 28540 no later than December 17, 2021, by 4:00 PM (EST). The responsibility for submitting bids (including all documents requested herein) is solely and strictly that of the Bidder. The CITY is not responsible for delays in the delivery of the mail or delays caused by any other occurrence. Bids received after the time for closing will not be considered.
