Scope of Work
The City of Jacksonville (COJ) is seeking proposals for the installation of a prefabricated metal
building with a single slope roof at 1152 Commons Dr N, the site of the Parks Maintenance Facility.
This structure will be used as a Materials Yard Storage Building and will store landscaping
materials and equipment. This project includes but is not limited to the design, fabrication and
erection of a 75ft long x 20ft wide prefabricated metal building. The structure is to be erected on
an existing compacted gravel area, see attached Site Plan. Contractor to be responsible for
foundation design. Work shall be in accordance with federal, state and local codes and
requirements. Contractor responsible for all costs associated with the project to include taxes,
fees and permits. It is the intention of this RFP for proposals to include all costs for the design,
approval and construction of the information herein. All contractors and design professionals that
participate in this project shall be required to show proof of licenses and/or certifications as
required by the state of North Carolina.
Proposal Schedule
Release of Request for Proposal: November 19 2021
Request for clarifications due: December 3, 2021
Response to clarifications made by: December 6, 2021
Proposals due to the City of Jacksonville: December 13, 2021
Recommend contract award: December 20, 2021
Recommend Notice to proceed: January 4, 2022
The City reserves the right to alter the schedule of events or any portion of this RFP. The City
will notify all Proposers of changes in writing through the issuance of written addenda.
Any addenda issued in relation to this RFP are valid and binding.
Submittal of Proposals
Contractors are to submit proposals in one of the following ways: via email to
cbaysden@jacksonvillenc.gov; in person delivery of a flash drive in an envelope; in person
delivery of a paper submittal in an envelope; or by mail at the address below. Digital Proposals
shall be as single pdf document. If submitting by email, the proposer may wish to use the email
receipt confirmation to confirm deliver of the RFP, which are due by 3:00 PM EST on December
13, 2021. Any RFP submitted after the time stated will be non-responsive and will not be
considered.

The responsibility for submitting proposals (including all documents requested herein) is solely
and strictly that of the bidder. The City of Jacksonville is not responsible for delays in the
delivery of mail, or delays caused by any other occurrence.
In the event of a descrepancy between the BidNet posting and the Request for Proposal, the language in the Request for Proposal will prevail.
