The City of Jacksonville wishes to hire a contractor to perform bi-weekly cleaning of the City’s sixteen (16) 30-passenger buses to include exterior cleaning, interior cleaning, sanitizing and yearly waxing of each bus. Bus cleaning will be performed Monday through Thursday. The final schedule of when buses will be cleaned will be negotiated with the City and the Contractor to ensure that all available buses are in use as needed.
Buses are stored at the City’s Public Services Complex located at 350C South Marine Boulevard (behind AutoZone). The Public Services Complex is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM through 4:00 PM.
Proposals are due at 3:00 PM on June 4, 2021 to Mr. Ed Richards, Fleet Maintenance Superintendent, 350 C South Marine Boulevard. The price is based on the service performed. The City is requesting the Contractor to submit their price on the bid proposal form included in this solicitation. Bids may be delivered to the address above or you can submit them electronically to erichards@jacksonvillenc.gov. In order to be considered responsive, the bid proposal must be signed and all applicable forms submitted with the bid proposal.
Contractor shall provide said services during the three (3) year “Base Contract Term”, starting July 1, 2021 (hereinafter referred to as the Commencement of Service) and ending June 30, 2024. This Contract shall continue in full force and effect until June 30, 2024 unless terminated earlier as herein provided. The City will issue a Purchase Order for each of the Contract Years in accordance with the Contract.
Upon mutual written agreement, the Contract will be extended one (1) year, and again for a second year. The City will communicate with the Contractor its intention to exercise either of the Option Years. If either of the Option Years are exercised, the City will issue a Purchase Order for that year.
The Contract resulting from this RFB between the City and the Contractor shall prohibit the Contractor from assigning, subletting, or transferring the Contract, or any rights under, or interest in the Contract, without the written consent of the City.
