The City of Jacksonville is requesting proposals for the purchase of One (1) Fully Automated 29 cubic yard Side-Loading Refuse Collection Truck.:
Description: It is the purpose of the following, to describe a Fully Automated 29 cubic yard Side-Loading Refuse Collection Truck; these are the minimum acceptable requirements. The unit shall be of the manufactures current production model (2023), and shall meet or exceed the items of these specifications. The unit shall be the manufactures heaviest duty model available. The manufacture shall guarantee equipment against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of One (1) year. The vendor shall guarantee that a stock of component parts shall be available at a location convenient to the user. The unit shall be complete and operate upon delivery to the purchaser’s site. For any offer to be considered, all items must be of a standard production model, not modified for bid purposes.
Sealed Proposals will be received by the City Clerk’s Office of the City of Jacksonville, North Carolina, located at , 815 New Bridge Street, PO Box 128, Jacksonville, NC 28541, until 11:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Monday, May 15, 2023 at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Jacksonville City Hall, Conference Room A & B. Any proposals received later than the specified time will not be accepted or considered. The sealed proposal must be clearly marked “PROPOSAL FOR One (1) Fully Automated 29 cubic yard Side-Loading Refuse Collection Truck – Bid No. FY 23-13.” The City of Jacksonville, NC assumes no responsibility for unmarked or incorrectly marked proposals.
The PROPOSAL DOCUMENTS may be examined and/or obtained at the office of Fleet Maintenance, located at 350 C South Marine Boulevard, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest.
The bid form shall not be altered in any way.
WITHDRAWAL OF BID: No Proposal may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the date of Bid Opening.

RIGHT TO TERMINATE CONTRACT: If in the judgment of the Owner, the Bidder is not capable of providing the desired piece of equipment in accordance with the Contract documents either because of financial reasons, unsatisfactory tools or equipment, the Owner shall have the right to cancel or terminate under this Contract by giving the Contractor seven (7) days written notice.
QUALIFICATIONS: If not currently a Vendor for The City of Jacksonville, the successful bidder must provide a Vendor Application and W-9 to the City of Jacksonville. The City is exempt from Federal Excise Tax. Our Federal Tax Identification Number is 56-6000232. The City is not exempt from NC State & County Sales Tax. Such taxes shall be shown as a separate item on all invoices, when applicable. The Vendor must accept City of Jacksonville Purchase Order and the Terms and Conditions attached as Exhibit 1.
