The City of Jacksonville and Jacksonville Transit are seeking proposals from Contractors to provide the structured data cabling for a new facility known as Jacksonville Station. This project is funded in part by the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA). As such, this procurement is subject to federal terms and conditions as stated herein to which the Contractor must comply.
The City of Jacksonville is currently under construction of a new multi-modal transit facility at the corner of E. Thompson Street and Marine Boulevard. Construction is expected to be completed in fall of 2021. The building will consist of two wings with separate IT/Communication rooms. The entire plan set can be downloaded here:

Proposed cabling locations are as follows:
Transit/Operation Wing
• 6 offices each with (1 wall location, 4 cables per) = 24 total cables
• 4 locations (4 cables per) Open office area = 16 total cables
• 3 locations (4 cables per) Ticketing room = 12 total cables
• 2 locations (4 cables per) Office/MV = 8 total cables
• 2 locations (1 wall location 4 cables per) (1 floor location 4 cables per) = 8 total cables
• 1 location (4 cables) Waiting Area = 4 total cables
• 5 Wireless Access Points ceiling locations (1 cable per) = 5 total cables
• 5 TV mid wall locations (2 cables per) = 10 total cables
• 2 locations (1 wall location with 4 cables) (1 floor location with 4 cables) Staff meeting room = 8 total cables
*** Two fiber pairs between wings (Not included above, but added in grand total)
Total for Transit/Operation Wing = 95 cables, 48 location
Transportation/Administration Wing
• 6 offices each with (1 wall location, 4 cables per) = 24 total cables
• 2 meeting room each with (2 floor locations, 4 cables per) = 16 total cables
• 3 locations (2 wall location, 4 cables per) (1 floor location with 4 cables) = 12 total cables
• 2 locations (4 cables per) customer service meeting room = 8 total cables
• 1 location (4 cables per) copier room = 4 total cables
• 5 Wireless Access Points ceiling locations (1 cable per) = 5 total cables
• 12 TV mid wall locations (2 cables per) = 24 total cables

Total for Transportation/Administration Wing = 93 cables, 31 location
Grand total = 190 cables 80 locations
Coordination
The Contractor shall be responsible to coordinate/manage the work with other trades as necessary to maintain order on the job and shall work closely with the Owner and Prime Contractor.
Compliance
All work shall comply with applicable codes, laws, standards and ordinances wherever the project resides. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to obtain and pay for any building permits that may be required for this project.
Schedule
- RFP Invitation Release Date/Advertisement October 5, 2020
- Submission for Questions and Clarifications due by October 14, 2020
- Response to Questions and Clarifications issued by October 16, 2020
- Submission of Proposals November 5, 2020
- Selection Committee’s Recommendation issued by November 13, 2020
Submit three (3) hard copies of the proposals and one (1) digital or flash drive containing a PDF of the proposal by 5:00 PM (EST) on November 5, 2020 in the Transportation Department of Jacksonville City Hall, located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
The proposal package shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope/box marked: Request for Proposals – Structured Data Cabling for Jacksonville Station and delivered to: City of Jacksonville, Attn: Deanna Trebil, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
There will be no pre-proposal meeting, but questions about this proposal shall be submitted via email and will be answered until 5:00 PM (EST) on October 14, 2020. Questions received after this time will not be answered. Individual meetings with Firms will not be held due to personnel workload.
