Description

Each Oyster Castle reef will be comprised by 8 manufactured concrete blocks (12” * 12” * 8” [L * W * H]). Each of these blocks are to be stackable and interlocking, and designed to create complex, stable habitat that is suitable for oyster settlement, growth, and survival. The footprint of the Oyster Castle reefs will be 3,240 ft2 (301 m2). The substrates should not entrap protected species, as no large (> 2 in) gaps should exist in these substrates. Furthermore, these substrates should not be comprised of petroleum products (e.g., creosote or asphalt materials).

All Bids are due by 12:00 p.m. on August 5, 2022 for the Oyster Castles blocks and delivery as noted on this Request for Bids. Interested bidders must sign this Request for Bid and either email it to Pat Donovan-Brandenburg at pdonovan-brandenburg@jacksonvillenc.gov or deliver it to the Public Services Department, Water Quality Division, at Jacksonville City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.

If not currently a Vendor for The City of Jacksonville, the successful bidder must provide a Vendor Application and W-9 to the City of Jacksonville. The City is exempt from Federal Excise Tax. Our Federal Tax Identification Number is 56-6000232. The City is not exempt from NC State & County Sales Tax. Such taxes shall be shown as a separate item on all invoices, when applicable. The Vendor must accept City of Jacksonville Purchase Order and the Terms and Conditions attached as Exhibit 1.
