REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
RFP EP20/21-07
BID OPENING ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2021 AT 11AM
The City received CARES ACT funds to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. To that end, the City intends to renovate its Sweetland House building located at 610 Waterman Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914 to accommodate mental health services caused from the effects and social changes in response to the pandemic. To that end, it will renovate the exterior and interior to secure the building’s envelope, allow for better air exchange, and accommodate counseling space. Because the City used Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to acquire the property, Davis Bacon prevailing wage rate requirements apply to any construction related activities for the building. General Decision Number: RI20200001 11/06/2020 will be used to comply with this requirement. Specifications may be downloaded from the City’s website under Current Bids.

Three (3) copies of a proposal shall be submitted in one (1) sealed envelope to East Providence City Hall, Controllers Office, Room 103, Attn: Dawn Kenney, Procurement Specialist, 145 Taunton Ave., East Providence, RI 02914 no later than WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2021 AT 11AM. The bids will be publicly recorded. Bids received with a time of 11:01 AM or later will be rejected. The envelope needs to be marked BID EP20/21-07.
A non-mandatory onsite meeting is scheduled for THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2020 AT 9AM with all interested development firms for an opportunity to discuss the project with city officials. The City of East Providence reserves the right to reject any or all bids/proposals and reserves the right to award the RFP to the bidder deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
