pvd21-186 - LEAD SERVICES REPLACEMENT PROGRAM

The Work of this Project generally includes replacing lead service lines within the Owner’s retail
water service area in the cities and towns of Providence, Cranston, North Providence, Smithfield, 
and Johnston in Rhode Island. Bidders are requested to provide unit rate bid prices for replacing 
public side lead service lines (water main to curb stops), along with their qualifications to 
perform the Work of replacing lead service lines. The intent of this Project is that the Owner will 
make an award to multiple contractors based on meeting the required qualifications specified herein 
and based on evaluation of the submitted unit bid prices.
Awarded contractors will be assigned public side lead service line replacements and/or asked to 
provide subsequent bid prices to replace private side lead service lines (curb stop into buildings 
to the water meter) on the private property of customers throughout Owner’s retail water service 
area as these arise; prices for the replacement of private side lead service lines will be 
solicited from the qualified and awarded contractors based on designated groups and/or areas.
