PW’s current Billing System, Customer Star, is over twenty years old and has had many augmentations over the years to meet PW’s needs. As such, Providence Water is soliciting proposals for a utility billing system which will closely meet its requirements and is capable of expansion to meet future needs. Proposed Utility Billing software applications are to include, but are not limited to, Utility Billing, Customer Service & Management, Account Management, Premise Management, Rates, Financial Management, Cash Receipts, Billing & Accounts Receivables, Lien Management, Lead Service Account/Billing Management, Hand Held Device Interfacing, Service Orders, Collections, Connections/Disconnections, Report Writing, Meter/Asset Management, Meter Readings, customer self service capabilities, online electronic payment/billing capabilities, and interfaces to designated systems. Data exchange requirements, like automated data exchange with Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC), is also in scope - as described in this RFP.
