Description

The Town of Smithfield is seeking Proposals from qualified contractors for the Rehabilitation & Renovations of East Smithfield Neighborhood Center in the Town of Smithfield, County of Providence, Rhode Island.
Work of this project shall include, but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary to perform all operations in connection with the scope of work as described herein necessary to complete the work of this Contract to the satisfaction of the Town of Smithfield.
Sealed proposals may be received at the office of the Town Purchasing Agent, Smithfield Town Hall, 64 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917 until 10:00am on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Event Note

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference for this Project will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2022 at 10:00am at the East Smithfield Neighborhood Center, 7 Esmond Street, Smithfield, RI. Contractors will be required to visit the job site and be completely familiar with all existing conditions as they relate to the Project. Proposals will not be accepted from vendors who do not attend this meeting.

Additional Bidding Instructions

The responding bidders shall be experienced in Historic Preservation work and shall have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience on successfully completed Historic Preservation projects of similar scope. The Bidder shall stipulate the amount of time in calendar days required to complete the Work. The Bidder shall submit a preliminary Construction Progress Schedule reflecting the ability to complete the Work the date established by the Owner. The Contractor shall be responsible for the cost of obtaining a Building Permit. All other required permits shall be obtained and paid for by the General Contractor or its subcontractors. The successful Bidder shall commence the work within fourteen (14) days of a written Notice to proceed from the Owner. Following the Owner’s Notice to Proceed, the successful bidder shall not begin construction until a copy of the Building Permit is submitted to the Owner.
