The Aiken County Public School District (ACPSD) is seeking bids for District Wide Football Field Maintenance in accordance to specifications herein.
Treatment program should include fertilization, weed control, fire ant and insect control, and aerate. Treatments should be equivalent from site to site with minor variation depending on results and needs of each location. The cost should be inclusive of chemicals, labor, lime, fertilizer, consultation, materials, and any equipment necessary. All work should be warrantied. All fields should be monitored on a weekly basis.
All work shall be performed by contractor awarded the contract. Subcontracting any portion of the contract requires pre-approval by the District.
There are currently six (6) main football fields at the locations listed below. Each football field needs immediate treatment.
- Aiken High School
- South Aiken High School
- Midland Valley High School
- Silver Bluff High School
- Ridge Spring Monetta High School
- Wagener-Salley High School
Additional athletic fields may be added in the future if the need arises.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- All schools need an immediate treatment with pelletized lime to be done as soon as possible at all 6 schools.
- Each school needs an application of post-emergent herbicide and pre-emergent herbicide as soon as possible.
- Each school will receive a core aeration and fertilization with turf specific fertilizer the last week of April.
- There will be another fertilization, heavier in nitrogen in mid – late July.
- There will be a post and pre-emergent herbicide applied in August.
- There will be a pesticide and insecticide treatment applied as necessary twice annually.
- The process will then repeat itself starting in February with a post and pre-emergent as well as lime.
- Insurance is required for this project. Insurance must be purchased (or be currently in effect) with single limits in the amount of $50,000.00 property damage and $100,000.00 personal injury. Bidder must include a copy of certifications of insurance with bid response.
ADDITIONL WORK:
- Details of labor and material for any additional work will be presented to the District for approval before work begins.
